Privacy Policy

In brief

You can read every page and use every calculator without giving us your name, email or phone number. We don’t sell personal information. The calculators run in your browser, so the weights and prices you type never reach us.

Information we collect

Messages you send: If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
Visit data: Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure from abuse.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics to count visits. It records pages viewed, how you arrived and general device and location information, and it uses cookies to do so. It doesn’t load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
Referral codes: When you click a link to a company we work with, the link carries a code naming our site and the page you came from, so that company can credit the referral.

We don’t ask for financial details, account numbers or anything about your savings.

How we use it

To answer your messages.
To run the site, fix problems and stop abuse.
To understand which pages are useful, so we can improve them.
To be credited for referrals we make.

Cookies

We don’t set advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits; you can block them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on. The websites of companies we link to set their own cookies under their own policies once you arrive there.

Who we share information with

Information collected through this site, including referral codes passed through partner links, may be shared with third parties for marketing, fulfillment or other purposes, such as crediting referrals and measuring how the site is used. In practice that means our hosting provider (Cloudflare), our analytics provider (Google) and the partner whose link you clicked. Anything you type into a form on a partner’s website is collected by that company under its own privacy policy, not ours. We don’t sell email addresses or personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA and CPRA, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. We don’t sell it, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out. To make a request, email hello@goldinvesting.app. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

How long we keep it

We keep emails for as long as we need to answer them and handle any follow-up. Hosting logs and analytics data are kept for the periods set by those providers.

Security

The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we collect little, which leaves little to lose.

Children

The site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browsers’ Do Not Track signals have no agreed standard, so we rely on Global Privacy Control instead. When your browser sends it, analytics doesn’t load.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with its date. A significant change will also be noted on the home page for a while.
