GoldInvesting is a guide to owning physical gold: what it costs today, where to buy it, how to store it and how to sell it, written for Americans who'd rather understand a purchase than be talked into one.
Why we built it
Gold is one of the few things most people buy without knowing the real price. The quote on a coin hides a premium over the metal. The buyback price is often left out until you try to sell. And retirement money tends to arrive at a gold company through an ad, a phone call and a deadline.
We wanted one place that shows the numbers first. Today’s spot price, what a coin or bar should cost above it, what a dealer will pay you back, which coins an IRA can hold and what the account costs each year. Then the reader decides.

What we hold ourselves to
- Numbers come from the source that sets them: the mint that strikes the coin, the IRS, the exchange, the company itself.
- Costs are stated as they are. So is the fact that gold prices move both ways.
- We don’t predict prices and we don’t use fear to sell.
- Paid links are labeled, and we tell you how we’re paid.

Who we are
GoldInvesting is a Barcelia LLC company. Barcelia LLC, our parent company, owns the site, sets its editorial standards and answers for everything we publish.
How we’re paid
Reading the site is free. When a reader wants a gold IRA, we refer them to Augusta Precious Metals, and Augusta may pay us when someone we send asks for its information or becomes a customer. Augusta doesn’t review or approve our guides. Read the full disclosure.
